We have built and operate our Apprenticeship and Training facility with evolving education in mind.     Central Pension Fund

    The Central Pension Fund is the second largest labor-management pension fund in the United States. By partnering with Local 450 you are able to offer your employees a secure retirement package, and it provides the reassurance of knowing your employees will be taken care of in the future.     Health Fund

    The Southern Operators Health Fund is one of the top multi-employer health plans. It is a nationwide health plan that offers participants a comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, and vision benefits. The Fund is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of both labor and management who design the plan and provide families with the tools, information, and programs participants need to take control of their health.     The IUOE Local 450 Apprenticeship and Training Fund is overseen by a board of Trustees made up of both labor representatives and management representatives from our signatory contractors. The Local 450 Training Center sits on 150 acres adjacent to our Local 450 offices in Dayton, TX. At the facility, employees can operate real equipment to enhance their skills and attain industry-recognized certification at no cost to the employer. Below is a list of some of the classes that are available:

    • Grades & Stake training along with Print Reading
    • NCCCO Certifications, Including – Signal Person, Rigger I, Rigger II, Small Hydraulic, Large Hydraulic, Lattice Boom Crawler, Lattice Boom Truck, Tower Crane, Overhead Crane, and Aerial Platform

    Mock Unit / Rigging Structure

    The Local 450 Apprenticeship and Training Fund is in the process of constructing a mini-unit to create the most realistic industrial training experience around. The structure will be complete with exchangers, valves, piping, and motors on three accessible decks. Apprentices and Journeymen will be able to complete hands-on tasks that exactly mimic scenarios they will encounter in the field. This next-level training will tremendously increase the capability of our workforce and add yet another advantage for partner contractors.
